Effect of preventive interventions in mentally ill parents on the mental health of the offspring: systematic review and meta-analysis

Meta-analysis of randomized/controlled prevention programs for children of parents with mental illness. Interventions cut the risk of offspring developing the same disorder by about 40% (combined RR 0.60, 95% CI 0.45-0.79) and reduced internalizing symptoms — strong evidence that acting early changes the intergenerational course.
