Predicting Adolescent Cognitive and Self-Regulatory Competencies From Preschool Delay of Gratification: Identifying Diagnostic Conditions

Classic follow-up of preschoolers from the "marshmallow" delay-of-gratification paradigm. Seconds of delay at age ~4 (under certain diagnostic conditions, e.g. rewards exposed) predicted parent-rated adolescent cognitive and self-regulatory competence and SAT scores. Original sample was small and not diverse.
