Síntesis

Longitudinal UK data (n ≈ 17,400 for longitudinal analyses; ~72,000 cross-sectional) suggest age- and sex-specific windows when higher self-reported social media use predicts lower life satisfaction one year later: roughly ages 11–13 in girls, 14–15 in boys, and around 19 for both. Implies effects may be developmentally timed, not uniform.
